Warm Ground
The work starts on a white base with a fine grain, which gives the surface its texture. Two coats of brown go on first, to give the colour depth. Orange and pale blue follow: the blue sits on top, yet in places it also shows through from below. The last layer is a metallic enamel in dark silver, which catches the light at an angle.
Six layers of paint in all: warm browns and orange drift across the surface in soft clouds, and a cold pale blue breaks through between them.
Everything is worked with brushes and sponges, so the patches of colour have uneven, broken edges.
The work is painted with breathable, vapour-permeable Italian paints made with high-quality Italian pigments. The colour is stable: the paint does not oxidise or yellow over time.

Size and placement
At 70 × 100 cm, this painting suits a wall above a sofa, sideboard or bed around 100–110 cm wide, or a narrower wall on its own.
Ready to hang
The canvas arrives stretched on a stretcher frame, ready to hang. It is sent without an outer frame, so you can hang it as it is or choose a frame later.
Care
Wipe with a soft, damp sponge, without harsh cleaning products. The paint handles daylight well, but years of strong direct sun can slightly change the colour, so a spot out of direct sunlight keeps it closest to how it looks today.
