Slate Blue Haze
A calm field of slate blue over a base of black enamel. The colour is lighter at the top and bottom, and a deeper band runs through the middle, like a sky before rain.
The blue is laid with brushes and a sponge in three coats of matte paint: the first dense, the second and third thin. The dense coat shows through the thin ones, so the colour is never flat: it clouds, lightens and deepens across the canvas.
There are only a few craters, and each one opens down to the black enamel. From a distance they almost disappear; up close they become small windows into the base of the work.
The finish is matte, but where the light falls at an angle, a soft satin sheen appears.
The canvas is painted with restoration-grade paint made with stable Italian pigments, so the colour holds well over time.

Size and placement
At 120 × 150 cm, this is a large vertical work. It can hold a wall on its own, or hang above a sofa or sideboard around 180 cm wide. Leave at least 30–40 cm of free wall on each side.
Ready to hang
The canvas arrives stretched on a stretcher frame, ready to hang. It is sent without an outer frame, so you can hang it as it is or choose a frame later.
Care
Wipe with a soft, damp sponge, without harsh cleaning products. The paint handles daylight well, but years of strong direct sun can slightly change the colour, so a spot out of direct sunlight keeps it closest to how it looks today.
Authenticity
The original work, one of one, with a signed certificate of authenticity.
