Pearl Turquoise over Black
The painting is built on contrast: a deep black base and a cool turquoise pearl laid over it.
The turquoise is brushed in different directions, coat over coat, and the strokes knit into a fine hand-made weave. Faint horizontal bands run across the field. Each viewer finds their own space in it: sea, haze, or simply colour.
In two places the black base is left bare: a flat bar at the top and a stepped block in the lower right corner. Their edges are hard and straight, and the strict geometry holds the soft, moving field around it. The canvas follows the line of hard-edge abstraction, where clean shapes and open fields of colour work against each other.
The pearl finish changes with the light: seen straight on, the turquoise is quiet and deep; from the side, the weave catches the light and the surface begins to shimmer, while the black stays fully matte.
From the same series: Pearl Yellow over Sienna and Violet Portal to Madeira, each built on one pearlescent colour over a contrasting base.

Ready to hang
The canvas arrives stretched on a stretcher frame, ready to hang. It is sent without an outer frame, so you can hang it as it is or choose a frame later.
Care
Wipe with a soft, damp sponge, without harsh cleaning products. The paint handles daylight well, but years of strong direct sun can slightly change the colour, so a spot out of direct sunlight keeps it closest to how it looks today.
